AquaNest Maui Lagoon Fish Spawning Mop

The AquaNest Maui Lagoon fish spawning mop is a large, high-density acrylic yarn aquarium accessory designed to support breeding, fry protection, and daily enrichment for a wide range of aquatic life. Unlike many common spawning mops that contain roughly 50 to 100 strands, this fish spawning mop is made with approximately 200 strands, creating significantly more structure and usable surface area inside the aquarium.

A versatile acrylic mop in green, orange, red, yellow and coordinating pastel tones. Perfect for egg laying fish to deposit eggs, provides hiding spots for fry, and offers enrichment and exploration for adult fish. Adds stunning colour and texture to your tank. Recommended to combine with other Lagoon series colors.

This increased strand density closely mimics the fine root systems of aquatic plants. Eggs can settle deeper into the fibers, fry gain far more hiding space, and adult fish have a larger, more engaging area to explore, swim through, and interact with. The added surface area also benefits shrimp and snails, which naturally graze on biofilm and micro-organisms that develop along the yarn strands.

Each fish spawning mop is available in floating or non-floating configurations and includes a suction cup for secure positioning anywhere in the aquarium. This allows the mop to be placed near the surface, mid-water, or lower in the tank depending on species behavior and tank layout.

This mop varys in color with some more blue green yellow to less pink and some more pink yellow blue less green. You will be sent a mix if you order more then one. These go great with our other Lagoon brand mops.

Durable, Reusable, and Aquarium Safe

Made from soft acrylic yarn, this fish spawning mop is durable, easy to clean, and reusable between uses. It can be rinsed or disinfected as needed.

Common Uses
Guppies, mollies, platies, swordtails, killifish, rice fish, goldfish (breeding setups), and shrimp tanks.

Use one or multiple mops per tank (multiple recommended for fry). Non floating mops can be used as a cleanable substrate. Non Floating Mops may take several days to settle.

Fraying of the mops is natural and increases the number of hiding spots.

Rinse in tank water to keep beneficial bacteria. Hose down if needed.

Replace if the mop becomes tangled.
